Bob Gibson was an American folk sisnger and songwriter who came to prominence in the late 50s and early 60s as the folk revival was happening in New York's Greenwich Village.

Doubling on banjo and 12 string guitar, Gibson is credited by some as having led the folk revival and is responsible for introducing artists such as Joan Baez and others. Other folk artists have recorded his songs, such as the Kingson Trio, the Smothers Brothers, Peter, Paul and Mary and Simon & Garfunkel.
