Butch Watanabe was a Canadian trombonist who played with some of the biggest names in both jazz and pop music, including the legendary Oscar Peterson, Lionel Hampton and Ann Murray.

In the later part of his career, Watanabe toured with Oscar Peterson either as a trombone player or as his road manager.
