Bono has Emergency Back Surgery

Lead singer and frontman Bono had surgery in Munich today and will remain in hospital for a few days, and then return home to recover. Salt Lake City date is postponed and more announcements will follow.

Bono, lead singer of rock band U2, had emergency back surgery today in Munich, Germany, just days before the band was set to open the US leg of their massive 360° tour in Salt Lake City, Utah. That date has already been officially postponed, with more announcements to follow as soon as his situation and condition has been more fully assessed.

The band’s manager, Paul McGuinness, announced the delay and passed on a little more information through an audio message available on the band’s website at www.U2.com. Rehearsals were set to commence on Tuesday in Salt Lake, however, with Bono’s unexpected emergency surgery and hospitalization, those plans are on hold as over 400 tour team members were told not to head to Salt Lake.

This is a developing story, so please check back for updates.
