Australian aboriginal folksinger Archie Roach went from singing on the streets to playing at Melbourne Concert Hall literally overnight in 1989. His 10 minute opening set for Paul Kelly and the Messengers delivered an audience to him and he to that audience in a manner that thrust him into mainstream awareness instantly.
